Career

Robert Weithas was born in Innsbruck, Austria. He was educated at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera. In 2016 he joined the Junior Company of the Vienna State Opera and in 2017 he joined the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera and Volksopera, where he danced mostly in the Vienna Volksopera. In 2022 he left the Vienna State Opera and started to work as a freelance dancer and aspiring choreographer.
During his time in the Vienna State Ballet he was seen in many classical ballets, musicals, operettas, operas and in 2022 he created his first own choreography “Raum 112” for the Plattform Choreographie at the Vienna Volksopera.
Now as a freelance dancer Robert has danced all around the globe, from Japan to Mexiko. He has performed e.g. for the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP), at Origen Festival Cultural, Orsolina 28 and the Sadler’s Wells Theater and has worked with Natalia Horecna, Alina Cojocaru, Johan Kobborg and Nicholas Palmquist.
